US Sr CPO Insignia Group . W304

$40.00

United States Navy Senior CPO (Chief Petty Officer) Cap Insignia Group. The large cap device has screw post back and the two smaller insignia has clutch back attachments. The cap device is marked on back Sterling and 1/20 10k GF. Most likely 1950s-1960s era. Nice condition.

Additional Notes: The U.S. Navy CPO cap badges consist of a gold fouled anchor with silver block letters “USN” superimposed on the anchor’s shank. There can be one, two, or three silver stars attached above the anchor’s stock indicating Senior Chief, Master Chief, and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy.

Navy chief petty officers serve a dual role as both technical experts and as leaders, with an increasing emphasis on leadership as they progress through the CPO paygrades. Like petty officers, every chief petty officer has both a rate and a rating. A chief petty officer’s full title is a combination of the two. Prior to 1958, chief petty officer was the highest enlisted grade in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.
