United States (U.S.) Navy Officer Dress Blue Jacket. Rank on the end of sleeve is for a Lieutenant, Dental Corps Officer. All six gilt navy buttons still in place. Most likely 1940s (ww2) era. Private tailor tag Tartaglia Philadelphia on interior. Named in interior pocket tag with stitched in tag with red lettering of John H. Meyers. Size approximately 17 1/2 inches shoulder to shoulder, about 19 inches armpit to armpit, and about 25 1/2 inches from shoulder to end of sleeve, and about 30 inches length down back. Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: The U.S. Navy Officer’s Dress Blue Uniform was a three-piece uniform which included a cap, jacket, and trousers made from various types of wool, such as gabardine and elastique. The double-breasted jacket was fully lined and had six adorning gilt buttons bearing an eagle clutching an anchor. Rank insignia was worn around the lower sleeve.
