SOLD US WW2 IKE Field Jacket 8th AAF Aerial Gunner – Named . UA1326

United States WW2 8th Army Air Force (AAF) “Ike” Field Jacket. Uniform has enlisted collar insignia, a “U.S.” insignia and a AAF (Army Air Force) collar insignia on collar area. One sleeve has a nice bullion 8th AAF shoulder sleeve insignia (patch), the strange thing, is that the patch is stitched on top of another patch. Also, same thing with the sleeve rank insignia, they are stitched on over another set of sleeve rank insignia. There are also four overseas stripes on lower portion of one sleeve. Each stripe represents 6 months service in a combat zone. The 4 stripes would represent 2 years of service in a combat zone. Above one front pocket is a very nice bullion aerial gunner wing with 3 place ribbon bar below and a small AC pin under collar area. Interior has QM contract tag in the inside pocket marked: Jacket, Field, Wool O.D., 40S 1944. Also, ink marked appears to be to: Andy Cumming ’44, Crew Chief “Arrowhead” 453rd BG(H) 7233d BG. Also, size tag in neck area marked 40S. Overall, nice condition “Ike” field jacket with nice bullion insignia and unusual sleeve insignia overstitched on top of other insignia.
