WW2 Japanese Army Parade Sword w/Tassel . SJ154

WW2 Japanese Army Officer Parade Sword with Tassel. The tassel in very worn condition. Company grade sword (backstrap design only at top quarter area of backstrap), with a lot of wear to gilt finish. The triple wire wrapped black plastic/celluloid grip in very worn condition with areas of the wire wrap coming loose at portions, however, still a decent look. The pierced gilded brass D-guard and pommel have an uncleaned patina. Ten petal cherry blossom decorations (for the Army) on each side of backstrap “ears” and on top area of back strap. The machine-made chrome plated blade with artificial wavy line temper in good basic condition. The two-ring scabbard is in very heavily worn condition with several large worn areas to the plating to the nickel-plated steel-based scabbard. Blade length approximately 29 1/2 inches, about 34 1/2 inches overall length. Very worn condition.
