SOLDmm WW2 Japanese Army Officer Scabbard (Aluminum) . NNJ449

Japanese WW2 Army Officer sword (Shin-gunto) scabbard (saya). It appears to be an unusual aluminum-alloy variation of the scabbard. Very heavily worn olive painted scabbard. The scabbard throat fitting (Kuchigane) has the side button hole that is slightly offset to the thin cutting edge portion of the blade. Upper fixed ashi (fixed scabbard band with ring) in decent condition. Lower Semegane (decorative attachment about 3/4 way down scabbard) in decent condition. There is no lower Ishizuke (bottom drag). Overall length approximately 28 1/2 inches which is usually for about a 26 inch blade (27 inches counting the habaki). Very heavily worn condition.
