SOLD WW2 German Narvik Campaign Shield . GO6189

WW2 German Narvik Campaign Shield (Narvikschild). Field-grey army cloth with backing plate and all prongs appear to be still present under paper backing material. On the front of the shield has the wording “Narvik” and the date 1940. Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: The Narvik Shield (Narvikschild) was a WW2 German military badge awarded to all German forces that took part in the battles of Narvik between April and June of 1940. It was instituted in August of 1940. The Narvik shield was bestowed by General Eduard Dietl, the commander of Army Group Narvik.
