This is an interesting Knights Cross. This appears to be most likely a high-quality reproduction or a post war parts piece. This one is very convincing and would display very nicely on a tunic display. Okay, so here is my opinion on this one, reproduction/parts WW2 German Knights Cross of the Iron Cross marked 800 L/12 (for C.E. Juncker, Berlin). No ribbon. Three-piece Knight’s Cross with iron core center (magnet sticks to core) and silver outer frame. The L/12 and 800 marks are nicely done, however, do not quite match the design of known originals (however, they are appropriate spaced apart as expected). The core swaz is tightly fit into frame with frame corners rounded and some cross hatching present (however, again, not quite proper frame cross hatching from known originals). The dates are decently done, however, a little off in design, especially on the shape of the “3”s. The loop is marked “800” for silver content and is a bit bent up (looks nice, however, the ends of the loop are not the shape you would expect on a Juncker Knights Cross, maybe left over or parts item). Overall, a very interesting example with age patina, nice details and finishing, and several other convincing features, however, does not match a textbook Juncker Knights Cross. So, could be used as a place filler, study piece, or for display on a tunic, as, from any distance looks good, however, lacks the proper details from a close-up inspection. Selling as a high-quality reproduction or some type of put together piece.
