United States Army Mexican Border Service Medal. Numbered on rim: “247”. Full wrap broach pin system. Very heavily worn condition ribbon with tear to ribbon which is quite delicate, nice low early number.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: The Mexican Border Service Medal was established in 1918. The medal was awarded to those assigned to the U.S.-Mexico border at the period of time when the two countries were on the verge of war when a possible alliance between Germany and Mexico was intercepted should the U.S. were to enter the war.
