United States 1st Infantry Division “Big Red One” shoulder sleeve insignia (patch). Cut-edge. The patch does not react to UV light (does not glow under blacklight). Most likely 1940s-1960s era. Worn condition.
Additional Notes: The 1st Infantry Division is a combined arms division of the U.S. Army, and is the oldest continuously serving division in the Regular Army. It has seen continuous service since its organization in 1917 during WW1. It was officially nicknamed “The Big Red One” or after its shoulder patch and is also nicknamed “The Fighting First”.
