United States Army Officer WW2 Service Tunic. Has attached cloth waist belt. On one lower sleeve is a single bullion overseas bar (the overseas bar was worn on the right sleeve of the uniform to denote six months of service in a combat zone). US Regulation Army Officer’s Uniform Tag on interior. QM Depot Contract tag on inside interior pocket is size marked 38R and contract dated 1942. Also, has ink stenciled military laundry mark on interior as well. Overall, nice condition.
Additional Notes: The United States (U.S.) Army basic service uniforms consisted of a winter service uniform of olive drab (OD) wool worn in temperate weather, and a summer service uniform of khaki (a shade of tan) cotton fabric worn in tropical weather. In addition to the basic service uniforms, there were also a variety of fatigue and combat uniforms utilized as well. During ww2 era, summer and winter service uniforms were worn during their respective seasons while on duty within the United States. During wartime deployment, the European Theater of Operations was considered a year-round temperate zone and the Pacific Theater of Operations a year-round tropical uniform zone. In the Mediterranean Theater of Operations, U.S. soldiers wore both seasonal uniforms.
