In addition to the basic service uniforms, there were also a variety of fatigue and combat uniforms utilized as well. During ww2 era, summer and winter service uniforms were worn during their respective seasons while on duty within the United States. During wartime deployment, the European Theater of Operations was considered a year-round temperate zone and the Pacific Theater of Operations a year-round tropical uniform zone. In the Mediterranean Theater of Operations, U.S. soldiers wore both seasonal uniforms.
The 10th Air Force was a combat air force of the United States Army Air Forces during WW2, primarily operating in the China-Burma-India Theater. It was established in February of 1942, in New Delhi, India, and played a crucial role in supporting Allied operations in India, Burma, and China. The 10th Air Force conducted bombing missions, fighter operations, and troop transport to aid ground forces and disrupt enemy supply lines. It was later reassigned to focus on India and Burma after the 14th Air Force was activated in China in March 1943. The unit remained active in the region until July of 1945, when it moved to China before returning to the United States in December of 1945.
