WW2 German Army Signal EM Waffenrock (M35 Dress Tunic). Eight button front. Enlisted Signal shoulder straps, early pattern (approx. 1938-1940) with the dark blue-green cloth construction and unit “1” marked strap buttons, also, the “46” appears to be picked out of the strap. Korps-Nachrichten-Abeilung 46. Army Signal EM/NCO collar tabs. Army tunic eagle on front that is hand stitched applied. Named tag sewn to interior neck area. Markings also match the picked out strap numbers and the unit. Interior is marker marked with faded black ink stamp showing maker, size marks, and depot marked. Very heavily worn condition with a lot of scattered moth damage.

 

Additional Notes: The WW2 Wehrmacht form of the Waffenrock was issued in 1935, it was a formfitting thigh-length eight button tunic of fine feldgrau wool, without any external pockets. The collar was taller than the service tunic and bore more elaborate Litzen, embroidered all in silver-white and mounted on Waffenfarbe backing; smaller Ärmelpatten, similar in appearance to Litzen, appeared under the buttons on the dark-green Swedish cuffs. Waffenfarbe piping also edged the collar, cuffs, front closure, and scalloped rear vent.
