Additional Information: The Japanese Sacred Treasure Breast Star is a prestigious military decoration awarded for distinguished service to the state. It is part of the Order of the Sacred Treasure, which was established by Emperor Meiji in 1888. The breast star is a symbol of honor and recognition for military and civil service, and it can be awarded posthumously. The breast star is typically made of silver gilt and features an eight-point star with enameled rays, encircled by a silver gilt ring. The reverse side of the breast star bears a single pin with dual stays. The Trident Breast Star is a variant of the Sacred Treasure breast star, which was in use until 2003. It features a three-pronged trident-style vertical pin and is inscribed with the kanji meaning “order of merit decoration.” The Trident Breast Star is known for its elegant design and is often used to denote the highest class of the Sacred Treasure order.
