Imperial German Custom Silver Memorial Frame & Portrait Photograph of Young S.M.S. Nurnberg Naval Officer killed at Falkland Islands battle. Silver marks on the bottom of the frame. The back stand has come loose and needs to be re-attached. Size approx 7 inches X 4 inches. A hard to find Imperial German naval item.
Additional Note
The cabinet card was a style of photograph which was widely used for photographic portraiture after 1870. It consisted of a thin photograph mounted on a card. It’s included extensive logos and information on the reverse side of the card to advertise the photographer’s services.
