United States WW2 Army Type B-2 AAF (Army Air Force) leather flight cap. Number under visor area: T-7069. Tag on inside of cap is marked: Type B-2, Size 7 1/4, Spec. No. 94-3096, H.L.B. Corp. Very worn condition.

Additional Notes: The B-2 flight cap emerged in late 1943 as the US Army Air Forces’ primary cold-weather headgear for aircrew operating at high altitudes and in frigid theaters. It combined genuine sheepskin shearling for insulation with a rugged leather exterior, making it both warm and wind-resistant. Its distinctive shape and utilitarian design quickly made it one of the most iconic pieces of AAF headgear flown by bomber, transport, and fighter crews across all theaters of operation.
