United States Army Airborne Para-Glider Tropical (Khaki) Garrison Cap. 1940s (ww2) era. Blue piping for Infantry. This one came together with the named M1942 paratrooper pants also listed separately (sorry, collector kept the jacket), however, this indirectly gives you some unofficial owner and unit information (A.L. Brown 504 P.I.R.). Worn condition and you can see where this cap was folded in half for a bit.
Additional Notes: The WW2 United States Army Airborne Para-Glider Tropical Garrison Cap was a distinctive piece of headgear worn by soldiers in glider and parachute infantry units. You will see the classic overseas-style cap, often adorned with the combined parachute and glider insignia, and sometimes featuring branch-colored piping (like blue for infantry or red for artillery). These caps were typically made from lightweight tropical worsted wool for warm climates and were worn with pride by members of elite airborne divisions such as the 82nd and 101st Airborne. The insignia evolved during the war, eventually merging parachute and glider symbols into a unified Airborne patch.
