US M1 Combat Helmet Fixed Bale Repaint . HU1089

U.S. WW2 M1 Combat Helmet. Fixed bale (1941-43) with front seam. However, it appears someone re-painted the helmet shell and liner so that it displays as a USN 7th landing type forces designs. So, original ww2 era helmet and liner, however, they have been repainted (I believe recently) to have a fancier display look. Helmet shell only has a small portion of a damaged original helmet stitched-on chinstrap left on one side and no chinstrap section other fixed bale side. Liner in very rough condition with interior that is heavily damaged and mostly all interior parts missing or damaged. The liner is marked CAPAC in interior dome area. Overall, an early ww2 Fixed bale helmet and liner, however, heavily damaged interior to helmet liner and both helmet shell and liner later repainted with USN type design.
