WW2 German Army Infantry EM/NCO Visor . HG1533

$580.00

WW2 German Army Infantry EM/NCO Visor Cap. White waffenfarbe (branch of service, white for Infantry) piping to the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the center band. Stamped Aluminum army eagle and cockade insignia on front of cap. Interior of cap with heavy wear and a bit of damage to leather sweatband. The interior of the cap is lined in the issue type orange-tan oilcloth. The interior upper clear celluloid sweat shield is in decent condition and is size ink stamped “56”.  Overall, heavy wear to interior, however, exterior displays very well, would go nicely on tunic display.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German Army Infantry EM/NCO visor cap (Schirmmütze) was the standard peaked cap worn by enlisted men and non-commissioned officers of the Heer (Army). It was field-grey wool with a dark green band, white piping to denote infantry, and featured the eagle-and-wreath insignia with cockade. The visor peak was made of black lacquered vulcanfibre (a pressed fiber material), smooth on top and brown underneath. The chinstrap was black leather with dual buckles, designating EM/NCO rank. It was worn by enlisted men and NCOs during parades, walking-out dress, and formal occasions. In combat zones, soldiers often switched to field caps (Einheitsfeldmütze) for practicality.
