Also, still has original drawstring. Liner chinstrap also on helmet, however, very worn condition and not fully attached on one side. Maker and size marked NS64 (for the maker of Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, Schwerte). The production/lot number on the back appears to be: 8045. Decent condition WW2 German army combat helmet.
Additional Notes: The German combat helmets produced from 1935 to 1945 had two factory stampings punched into the side and rear or both in the rear. The alpha numeric number refers to the factory location (ET, SE, Q, NS, EF, HKP) and the inside metric circumference in centimeters. The rear lot number refers to the production run and was used as a quality control measure. There we three main combat models produced: the M35, M40, and M42. Each reflects a different phase of the war, from pre-war precision engineering to mass production under siege conditions.
