$45.00

WW2 German Group of 2 War Merit Cross (KVK) 2nd classes with swords. Both damaged condition with one missing ribbon ring and one missing both eyelet and ribbon ring.  The one has a ribbon slide through a small ring attached to the eyelet of one medal, does not have a proper ribbon ring, ribbon just stuffed into the much too small incorrect ring. Both damaged condition.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German War Merit Cross (Kriegsverdienstkreuz) 2nd Class was a widely awarded medal recognizing non-combat and support-related contributions to the war effort. It came in two variants: with swords (for bravery) and without swords (for service). This award was created in October of 1939 as a successor to the non-combatant Iron Cross which was used in earlier wars (similar medal but with a different ribbon). The award would recognize bravery or service in the furtherance of the war effort that fell short of the award of the Iron Cross. The award was graded in the same manner as the Iron Cross: War Merit Cross Second Class, War Merit Cross First Class, and Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross.
