WW2 German Gold Wound Badge. Tombak (brass-alloy) based badge with a gilt finish. Marker marked “30” on back for the marker of Hauptmünzamt Wien (the Vienna Mint). Unusual wide pin that is sometimes found on the gold wound badges by Hauptmünzamt Wien. Worn condition and hard to find wound badge.
Additional Notes: The Gold Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold) was a prestigious German military decoration awarded during WW2 to soldiers who were wounded five or more times in combat.
