WW2 German Spange to the 1939 Iron Cross 2nd class. All four straight cut prongs still on back. Tombak based badge. Marker marked on the back L/11 for the marker of Wilhelm Deumer. Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: The WW2 German 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class Spange was a clasp awarded to those who had already received the Iron Cross during WW1 and were awarded it again in WW2. The clasp featured an eagle clutching an oak leaf wreath with the year “1939” displayed below. The 1939 spange was typically made from Tombak or zinc and sometimes had a polished finish. The clasp was affixed to the ribbon of the WW1 1914 Iron Cross.
