WW2 German Russian Front or Eastern Medal (Ostmedaille). No Ribbon. Ring appears to be numbered, however, hard to make out. This medal was issued for the Winter Battle in the East 1941–1942 (Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42). This was a military award of the Wehrmacht (German Army). Worn condition.
Additional Notes: The WW2 German Eastern Front Medal, officially known as the “Winter Battle in the East 1941–42 Medal” (Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42), was a German military decoration awarded during WW2 to recognize service on the Eastern Front during the brutal winter campaign against the Soviet Union. It was also nicknamed the “Frozen Meat Medal” (Gefrierfleischorden), a grim reference to the extreme cold and suffering endured by soldiers.
