WW2 German Hindenburg honor cross. Honor Cross of the World War 1914/1918. Combatant (with swords). Marker marked “erk” on lower back of medal. Worn condition.
Additional Notes: The “Hindenburg Cross” is a common nickname for the Honor Cross of the World War 1914/1918 (German: Das Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges 1914/1918), a commemorative medal established in 1934 by Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg, then President of the German Republic. Despite its nickname, the medal was not directly related to WW2, but rather honored service in WW1.
