WW2 German Silver Wound Badge. Zinc based badge. Round pin on back. Marker marked “30” of back of badge for the marker of Hauptmünzamt Wien. Worn condition.
Additional Notes: The WW2 German Silver Wound Badge was awarded to soldiers who were wounded three or four times in combat or due to enemy action, including air raids. It was part of a three-tier system: Black for one or two wounds, Silver for three or four, and Gold for five or more. Introduced on September of 1939, the badge was made from silver-plated tombak (brass-alloy) early on, but later versions were produced in lacquered zinc.
