Additional Notes: The document titled “Military Improvisations During the Russian Campaign”, originally published as Department of the Army Pamphlet No. 20-201 in August 1951. It was later reprinted as CMH Pub 104-1-1 by the U.S. Army Center of Military History. The purpose was a historical study prepared for the U.S. Army’s Historical Division by former German generals and staff officers. The focus was a Tactical, logistical, and organizational improvisations made by the German Army during its campaign on the Eastern Front in WW2. Written from the German point of view, reflecting their military doctrine and operational methods.
