South Viet-Nam Military Souvenir Pillowcase. Black and Royal purple background with yellow fringe. Size approximately 16 inches X 16 inches. Most likely 1960s-1970s era. Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: Vintage military GI souvenir pillow covers for small accent pillows dates back to the War of 1812, however, most of the ones you see are typically from 1940s-1950s (ww2-Korea) era. These were typically to represent the honor the sacrifices and unwavering support of Mother’s, Dads, Wives and Sweethearts typically during wartime. They were intended as GI souvenirs for gifts to Mothers, Fathers, Wives, and Sweethearts. These small pillowcases are usually made of a type of rayon or satin. They are typically designed with fringe on all four sides. They usually open on the bottom or back but do not have buttons or zippers to close them. The insert space on most of these are roughly 16 inches x 16 inches.
