US Army Half Cartridge Belt Pouch . FLU3724B

United States army half portion of a M1 Garand cartridge belt. Only one half (only 5 of the 10 pockets) of a cartridge belt. The M1 cartridge belt is a classic piece of U.S. soldier gear. Most likely 1940s-1950s era. Possible project piece or restoration part. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: Charger retaining straps were used on pockets of pre-1917 production and deleted in 1917. However, they were re-introduced on the M1923 belts and again were deleted by the end of WW2. The strap was utilized to prevent the loss of the front charger when the rear one was being removed for use.
