Additional Notes: The Bluejacket’s Manual is the basic handbook for U.S. Navy personnel. First issued in 1902 to teach recruits about naval procedures and life and offer a reference for active sailors, it has become the go-to book for Navy personnel, providing information about a wide range of Navy topics. One of the most recent versions, issued in 2017, is the 25th Edition of the manual and is given to all enlistees. WW2 Editions included the 1940, 1943, 1944 manuals and are the 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the book.
