United States Army WW2 M1942 Black Porcelain Canteen with Cup and Cover. Cover and cup both dated 1942. Canteen marker marked and dated U.S. U.S.S.Co (UNITED STATES STONEWARE Co.) 1942 on bottom with rub areas near top area of canteen. Worn and used condition.

Additional Notes: During 1942, the United States procured canteens made of a low-grade metal with a black porcelain enamel coating. This attempt to save more valuable aluminum and stainless steel had only temporary benefits and was stopped by the end of 1942 when the traditional metals were again released for use.
