ON HOLD alan0424 Statue of Scottish Claymore Figure . FLU1704

$350.00

Statue of Scottish Figure holding a Scottish Claymore Sword. It appears this statue is made out of some type of clay (still quite heavy). Not sure age on this one, I believe it is most likely late 1800s to early 1900s. Base approximately 6 inches wide and about 19 inches in height. Worn condition, with some wear and surface chipping to where you can see the base clay color below. Overall, a nice-looking display piece.

Additional Notes: A claymore sword is either the Scottish variant of the late medieval two-handed sword or the Scottish variant of the basket-hilted sword. The former is characterized as having a cross hilt of forward-sloping quillons with quatrefoil terminations and was in use from the 15th to 17th centuries. The weapon was also employed by the Irish.
