WW2 German Army 6th Cavalry Regiment officer shoulder boards. Golden-Yellow waffenfarbe (corps color) base. Major’s shoulder boards with number cyphers “6” (6th Regiment). Sew-on straps. Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: The WW2 German Army 6th Cavalry Regiment, also known as Kavallerie Regiment 6, was part of the 7th Panzer Division. It existed in 1939 just prior to the outbreak of WW2. The regiment was broken up into sub-units and sent off to existing infantry divisions to serve as liaison and reconnaissance units. The regiment was involved in various operations, including a classic cavalry battle involving saber and lance. The regiment was also part of the 36th Infantry Division, commanded by General Conrady, and was assigned a motorcycle. The regiment’s history includes being part of the Army Group (Mitte) and the Army Group (South), and it was commanded by Generalmajor Alexander Conrady from January 1944 to July 1944. The regiment’s operations included a simulated delaying action over an extended front, known as “Exercise Winterspiel.”
