Additional Notes: The United States Navy Mark 2 Fighting Utility Knife, often referred to as the “KA-BAR”, is one of the most iconic combat knives of WW2. Officially known as the 1219C2 Fighting Utility Knife, it was adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps in November of 1942 and later by the Navy as the US Navy Utility Knife, Mark 2. It was designed to replace outdated WW1 era trench knives and served both as a combat weapon and a general-purpose utility tool. The blade was a 7-inch clip point blade made of carbon steel, ideal for both stabbing and cutting. The handle utilized stacked leather washers for grip.
There were nine variations of the Ka-Bar marked US Navy Mark 2 fighting knives during ww2.
