WW2 United States Case Stiletto Pattern Knife. Unmarked private purchase made knife made during ww2 for GIs to meet the need for fighting knives. This Case stiletto pattern knife has a curved guard with leather handle and gray fiber washers and aluminum pommel attached by single pin. This one has the proper ww2 sheath type that is found on all these case stiletto pattern knives and appears to have a faded military laundry number as well on the front of the sheath. The knife is nice and tight with no wiggle and in decent overall condition.
Additional Notes: The need for ww2 fighting knives was great. Many knife manufacturers looked to fill this need by making private purchase knives. These private purchase knives were pattern after other knife makers such as Case, PAL, and EGW. These typically has bright blades and handles with leather, fiber, and/or aluminum washers.
