United States WW2 Western G46-6 Shark Fighting Knife. Flat steel pommel. Leather grip with black and red spacers and long steel guard. Nice blued blade (hard to take good pictures of the bluing on the blade, which is in nice condition) and marked on blade ricasso: Western, Boulder, Colo. Pat.No.1,967,479. Average condition leather scabbard with some wear. Overall, good with nice condition blade.

 

Additional Notes: The WW2 Western G46-6 “Shark” Fighting Knife is a highly collectible and historically significant combat knife produced by Western Cutlery in Boulder, Colorado during WW2. The knife was issued to both the USMC and USN. The Western G46-6 was made with stell, aluminum, and bakelite pommels, can have bright or blued blades and have guards either made of steel or brass. The Western G46-6 was also one of the first knives that were issued to Marine Raiders. There are about 18 variations of the Western G46-6 Shark Fighting Knife.
