WW2 Italian M1932 MVSN Dress Dagger. Aluminum-alloy hilt with black bakelite inserts on each side with one side having a gilded bakelite (plastic) embedded fascist insignia, I have not seen these with plastic inserts before, typically bronze, however, it does have a nice fit and I do not feel like it is replaced (however, it does appear to have the gilding worn off and redone, might be replaced, however, not sure). Nice clean blade. Nickel plated scabbard with attached belt strap with bullion wire and embroidery. Size of blade approximately 7 inches in length. Nice overall condition with some wear to scabbard area and dagger has a little bit of wiggle when fitted into scabbard.
Additional Notes: The Italian M1932 MVSN Dress Dagger was the official ceremonial weapon of the Fascist paramilitary Blackshirts (MVSN) during Mussolini’s regime, combining symbolic design with practical fighting utility. The MVSN (Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale), known as the Blackshirts, was Mussolini’s paramilitary force. The Model 1932 dagger was introduced as both a dress weapon for officers and a functional fighting knife.
