Pre-WW2 (Wiemar) German Fire Service Dagger . D2075

Pre-WW2 (Wiemar) German Fire Service Dagger. The dagger has a plain blade with graying, spotting, and some possible sharpening, however, decent overall. The wood grip and nickel silver grip wire in good condition and nickel silver handle fitting also in good condition. The leather scabbard is very worn (shrunk a bit) with stitching split holding the leather seam together. The nickel silver fittings on scabbard are also very worn with indentations in upper fitting. Approximately 13 inch blade, and approximately 18 1/4 inches in overall length in scabbard. A hard-to-find Fire Service dagger in worn condition.

Additional Notes: The Weimar Republic was Germany’s government from 1919 to 1933, the period after WW1 until the rise of WW2 Germany. It was named after the town of Weimar where Germany’s new government was formed by a national assembly after Kaiser Wilhelm II abdicated.
