Civil War CDV of Henry Parkhurst Cooke.  Mr. Cooke enlisted on May 27, 1861, as a 1st Sergeant and fought in the First Battle of Bull Run. On May 27, 1861, he mustered into “B” company 2nd New Jersey Infantry. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and on January 21, 1862, he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant, then on February 12, 1863, he was promoted to Captain.  On October 22, 1863, he was discharged so he could be commissioned into the US Volunteers Adjutant Generals Department as a Captain and Assistant Adjutant General.  Mr. Cooke resigned his commission on May 1, 1865. He is pictured in his CDV pose in a book and Civil War unites & Officers.
