1912-S US Barber Silver Half Dollar Coin . COIN676

$40.00

1912-S United States Barber Silver Half Dollar Coin. The obverse features Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath. The reverse displays an eagle with outstretched wings and a shield at its chest, holding a banner in its beak and an olive branch and cluster of arrows in its claws. 90% silver content (0.3575 troy oz). Very heavily worn condition.

Additional Notes: The Barber Half Dollar (1892-1915). The Barber Half Dollar was the 3rd variety of the coin minted by the United States. This coin’s design was heralded as being intricate beyond words, yet simple enough that the coin’s faces did not appear to be overcrowded. Minted for less than 25 years, there are fewer of these half dollars on the market than there are of plenty of the other varieties.
