Spanish Mauser M-1941 (Model 1941) Bolo Knife Bayonet. Serial numbered: 5088 above the letter B on one side of the blade ricasso and marker marked with the Toledo logo on the other side of the blade ricasso. Mis-matching number 496 L on the scabbard which is very worn condition with several dents. Blade length approximately 9 5/8 inches. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: The Spanish Mauser M-1941 Bolo Bayonet was designed as a replacement for the earlier M1907 Artillery Bolo. It was issued with the 8mm Mauser M1943 short rifle. The M1941 bayonet features a bolo style blade and retains the heavy crosspiece of its predecessor but with a shorter blade. Produced by the Toledo Arms Factory, the bayonet is known for its high-quality Toledo steel, which has been historically renowned for its hardness and durability. Despite its practical design, it was considered somewhat impractical and unpopular with the troops
