WW2 German Staghorn Dress Bayonet . BAYO2013cxa

$375.00

WW2 German Army short dress bayonet. Nice staghorn grips. Marker marked on the blade ricasso with the logo for Gustav Spitzer Solingen. Decent clean blade, good fittings and grip. Good condition scabbard. Blade length approximately 8 inches. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German Army Dress Bayonet was a ceremonial version of the standard K98 bayonet, designed for parade and dress occasions rather than combat. These bayonets were often nickel-plated, featuring staghorn or bakelite grip plates and a black-painted scabbard. Unlike functional bayonets, they lacked a sharpened edge and were primarily ornamental. Collectors often seek maker-marked examples from Solingen manufacturers like E. Pack & Söhne, Alcoso, and Robert Klaas. Some versions included etched blades with unit insignia or personalized engravings. Occasionally, a troddel (bayonet knot) was attached to the hilt to indicate the rank or branch of the wearer.
