Additional Notes: Wedgwood is the historic British maker of fine china, jasperware, and luxury tableware, founded in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood. If you’re dealing with blue jasperware, bone china, or anything collectible in the ceramics world, this is the one you want. Wedgwood is a dense white stoneware body tinted throughout with mineral pigments (not just surface‑colored). Typically seen in “Wedgwood Blue”, but also black, green, lilac, yellow, and modern limited colors. Decorated with applied white bas‑relief figures inspired by ancient Greek and Roman art. First perfected around 1774 after thousands of experiments by Josiah Wedgwood.
