US M1 Combat Helmet Fixed Bale Damaged Repaint . HU1087

United States WW2 M1 Combat Helmet. Fixed bale (1941-43) with front seam. However, it appears someone re-painted the helmet shell and liner so that it displays as a USN 6th landing type forces designs. So, original ww2 era helmet and liner, however, they have been repainted (I believe recently) to have a fancier display look. Helmet shell does not have chinstrap, repaint is rough and flaking off in areas and helmet shell had damage near edges with some cracks starting as well. Liner in very rough condition with interior that is heavily damaged and mostly all interior parts missing or damaged. The liner is marked with the Firestone logo in interior dome area. Overall, an early ww2 Fixed bale helmet and liner, however, heavily damaged helmet and interior to helmet liner and both helmet shell and liner later repainted with USN type design.
