WW2 German EK2 Spange – Deschler . GO5192

$500.00

WW2 German Spange to the 1939 Iron Cross 2nd class. This variation although unmarked is attributed to the marker of Deschler & Sohn, Munich. The eagle has a simple straight plumage and narrow thin claws and the bar has an unique date spacing and look to the numbers. All prongs still on back. Buntmetall based badge on piece of ww1 cross ribbon. A very hard to find spange by Deschler. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class Spange was a clasp awarded to those who had already received the Iron Cross during WW1 and were awarded it again in WW2. The clasp featured an eagle clutching an oak leaf wreath encircling a swaz, with the year “1939” displayed below. The 1939 spange was typically made from Tombak or zinc and sometimes had a polished finish. The clasp was affixed to the ribbon of the WW1 1914 Iron Cross.
