Turkish Mauser M1935 Bayonet. No scabbard. Marked AS.FA (for the maker of Askari Fabrika) on pommel area, however, a bit worn away. Also, serial numbered on pommel area, also, a bit worn away and hard to read serial number. Appears to have pommel area probably overcleaned or polished a bit. Approximately 9 1/4 inch blade. Very worn condition, no scabbard.
Additional Notes: The Turkish Mauser M1935 Bayonet, marked ASFA, was produced by Turkey for their Model 1938 Mausers. This bayonet was created from modified versions of existing bayonets and was standardized to fit the new 8mm rifle round. The ASFA marking indicates that the bayonet was made at the Askari Fabrika, Turkey’s military arsenal, and reflects the country’s tradition of adapting and modifying imported firearms.
