Additional Notes: The Medal for the Campaign (Medalla de la Campaña) was a Spanish military medal of 1936 to 1939. The medal was established in 1937 and awarded to those who fought on the Nationalist side during the Spanish Civil War. It was awarded to members of the German Condor Legions, Italian CTV and the Spanish Falangist force for outstanding military service in the fight against the Republicans during the Spanish Civil War. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been gold plated and chemically blackened. The round shaped obverse features a Spanish lion holds in its paws a dragon (with a communist hammer and sickle on its wing), above four broad swords with a sun to the top-right and “17 Julio 1936” to the top-left, surrounded by a laurel leaf and berry wreath.
