United States WW2 Army Officer Visor Cap w/Carry Bag. This cap has the front and back chinstraps which is most often associate with Army Air Corp Officers. Visor cap brim stitching is mostly gone, therefore, the two halves of the visor pear separating. Visor cap is marker marked on interior: “The Berkshire” Berkshire Caps, U.S. Army Officers’ Caps. Named on interior is faded a bit, however, appears to be: Jay Wheeler 7066. Most likely 1940s-1950s (WW2-Korea era). This one has an unusual clear carry bag, I have not seen one of these carry bags before, very unusual. Worn condition. Size likely 6-7/8.
Additional Notes: The United States Army officer visor cap from WW2 was a distinctive piece of headgear worn by officers, ranging from Lieutenant to General. These caps were typically made with a wool, felt, or twill upper covers, a mohair band for officers, and a leather or faux leather visor, with a brass officer cap insignia that resisted rust. They were designed for both formal and everyday wear, offering a professional and authoritative look.
