U.S. WW2 30th “Old Hickory” Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia. Used and worn condition.

Additional Notes: The 30th Infantry Division, after training in the U.S. for just over 2 years, and under the command of Major General Leland Hobbs, arrived in England in February of 1944 and trained for the Allied invasion of Normandy. The 30th Division landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy, on June 11th, 1944, five days after the initial D-Day landings of June 6th, 1944, secured the Vire-et-Taute Canal, crossed the Vire River on July 7th. Beginning on July 25th, the 30th Division spearheaded the Saint-Lô break-through of Operation Cobra, which was intended to break out of the Normandy beachhead, thus ending the stalemate that had occurred.
