U.S. Knights Templar Masonic Lodge Ceremonial Sword. Marker marked The M.C. Lilley & Co Columbus Ohio. Double engraved blade with various scenes of the nights Templar and with skull and cross bones with words Memento Mori or “remember you must die.”, that serves as a reminder of death and mortality. Also, name engraved “Charles Shafer” on panel on one side of blade engraving. Handle has the initials “SC” intertwined. Most likely early 1900s. A lot of greying and wear to blade. Overall very worn and used condition.
