SOLD Early USAF Officer Visor Cap – Bancroft Flighter . HU1194

United States Air Force (USAF) Officer visor cap. Appears to be early USAF officer visor, most likely 1950s era. Marker marked Bancroft Flighter. Marked on both interior top sweat-shield area and on sweatband. Size marked 7 1/8 under sweatband. Most likely 1950s-1960s era. Has the thick interior tube type insert for shaping. Very worn condition with some staining.

 

Additional Notes: The USAF Officer service caps can have bullion visor clouds and darts on the visor peak top for higher ranking officers. There are two levels that look very similar; however, they differ in that for Field-Grade officers the designs of the insignia have two pairs of bullion cloud and darts insignia on the visor top. While the General Officers version of the cloud and darts bullion insignia have three pairs on the visor top.
